The way that we think about ourselves in both our social and our working lives is linked in a bigger way than we perceive!

To live a happy and a healthy life is closely linked to how we picture ourselves…and much of this starts with our “self-talk”. Amazingly we have 70,000 thoughts a day that go through our minds!

All of our thoughts…All of our beliefs…All of our behaviours are stored in our sub conscious mind…Our conscious mind is the active part of our brain, but every time we do anything, even in micro time, our conscious mind interrogates our sub conscious (call that a filing cabinet), to determine our default behaviour to any set of circumstances. This is why we always behave in a certain way and based on our perceptions of reality.

Naturally, our mind does not differentiate between work and our social lives.
Within Solution Focused, we have a model called the T.E.A.R Cycle. Our thinking effects our emotions, the actions that we take and the results that we get.

We cannot switch off and expect to automatically change our Self Talk once we leave the work place or the house…We are a product of our own self talk.

There are some simple things that we can do to change this…and it’s all down to how we view ourselves…We have to change our self talk. To be more positive in our thinking and to celebrate our achievements. It starts with small things!

Each week we will have great for 95% of the time…A fact that we choose to ignore, instead beating ourselves up about the 5% of things that did not go quite as we hoped. We feed our negative self talk and the spiral begins!
